FSU-Miami

March 5, 2006

Florida State’s men basketball team lost two games in overtime this season.  One was to Duke, the other was to the University of Miami.

Today’s game is probably the most significant in the history of the series.  Before Miami joined the ACC, the two usually faced each other in December, a month not known for games with post-seaons implications.

FSU has not beaten the Hurricanes since UM joined the ACC.  The last Seminole win was in 2003 (in Coral Gables).

A win gives FSU a winning season in the conference, their first since the 1992-1993 season.

The winner gets the 5th seed in the ACC tournament.
